Greek Dinner from The Main

OPA!

Tonight's menu items were all from Anthony Sedlak, The Main. Can you say 'He had me at hello'?
Oregano-Crusted Lamb
Lemon Potatoes
Greek Salad
Grilled Pita

We polished this meal off with a Shafer 2005 One Point Five Cabernet Sauvignon 45476 and a President's Choice Tarte Au Citron.

The wine has been describe as being a "meatier, more structured wine...with broad black currant fruit flavors intermixed with some spice box, crushed rock, and spring flowers...good acidity and freshness, but is long and seamless" by The Wine Advocate. However, can we tell that it is a $77 bottle oppose to a $30? Sadly, we are still not so refined. And wait a minute...CRUSHED ROCKS? This person reviewing it must be just going out in the wild and eating all sorts of crazy stuff. I personally would not know what crushed rocks taste like (opposed to uncrushed ones I suppose). One thing to note though was the fact that we were able to test out the Vinturi Essential Wine Aerator. It is truly a cool kitchen gadget that made a difference to the flavor and finish of the wine.

What a way to make Tuesday Night feel like a Friday.
