Lou Dawg's Southern Sandwiches

Lou Dawg's Southern Sandwiches is another better-than-fast-food joints that recently popped up along King West. I had to run a bunch of errands after so after the gym, we called in to order take out for the following items between Nick and I:
Pulled Pork Sandwich - Pork shoulder gets the King treatement: it's massaged with our Special Rub, slow roasted 'till "fork tender" and finally, the lucky bastard gets smothered in our Original Souther BBQ Sauce.
Smoked Beef Brisket Sandwich
Original Southern BBQ Sauce - To create the city's best brisket you need a whole lotta patience. We smoke our briskets for 14 hours 'till the meat falls off the bone, and you fall of your chair.
Sweet Potato Fries

They also threw in 2 BBQ Sauce for us:
Original Southern BBQ Sauce: This is the foundation. A Kansas style suace that's ideal for grilling, perfect for topping and goes with everything.
Genuine Smokehouse BBQ Sauce: Southern Sweetness, tang and smokeyness all blended into the perfect partner for any BBQ.

I think there were mixed reviews about this place so we were skeptical. But we were pleasantly surprised. Both sandwiches were very good. Very tender and flavourful and we thought it was just the right sauce to meat ratio on both sandwiches. However, we did prefer the beef brisket over the pulled pork. Probably because there was more fat on the beef brisket so it just made it super tender. The sweet potato fries were so-so. It would have been better if they were cut chunkier like the ones at Old York. I normally eat quite a bit but after half a sandwich, I thought my heart was going to stop so I saved the rest. Nick managed to eat his entire sandwich and most of the fries. Needless to say, he could not move much for the rest of the day.

We will definitely go back to Lou Dawg's. Hopefully, next time, they will have some of their Slow Smoked Dry Rub Wings on order since they said they were out of it this round.
