Ruby Chinese Restaurant

I crave Chinese banquet food more often than not ever since we moved out. This Friday, I was able to satisfy those cravings at our friend's baby banquet at Ruby Chinese Restaurant. We had a 10 course meal which included the following:
Red Eggs
Suckling Pig with Elastic bands
Stir-Fried Shrimp with Broccoli
Stir-Fried scallops and King Mushrooms with Gai Lan
Shark Fin Crab Roe Soup
Abalone with Mushrooms and Bak Choi
Double Lobster with Ginger and Green Onion
Deep Fried Whole Chicken
Steamed Double Fish
E-Noodles with Mushrooms and Chives
Fried Rice with Crab Roe
Sesame Cookies

My favourite dishes were the Scallops, Shark Fin Soup, Lobster, and Fish. Actually everything was very good except for the Shrimp. It looked good when they brought it out but when you taste it, you can easily tell it was not fresh and it was mushy when you bite into it. But given so many tables at the banquet and with regular dinner service, I am impressed with their quality.

Farnese Montepulciano d'Abruzzo 2007 was the red wine of the evening. This is an Italian wine that is dry and pretty flavourful for something not very expensive. Definitely need to look out for this at LCBO.
