My Dwell Magazine Moment 3: Medlock Ames Tasting Room

Medlock Ames tasting room was such a great treasure in Healdsburg. Urbandaddy, had a short article about them a few months ago and something about this tasting room drew me in. After a long bike ride from our hotel, we were glad to discover this hidden gem in Alexander Valley. Not only are they equipped with their own pizza oven, herb garden, hidden bar, and picnic tables, which already make them super cool in my books, they practice sustainable land management as noted in an article in Discoveries Magazine. I fell in love with their interiors which included re-purposed library chairs, warehouse pendant lights, and gray-washed douglas fir. The most interesting aspect though was that it was built on the footprint of the century-old Alexander Valley Bar and Store. You just can't not love a place that incorporates modern design with so much history.
