The Stockyards

On a Sunday night, the boys and I embarked on a journey that involved meat, meat, and a wee bit of potatoes. With good reviews on their fried chicken from Toronto Life, we decided to give The Stockyards a try. The four of us ordered the Buttermilk Fried Chicken Combo (with fries and coleslaw), a side of potato salad (because the girl at the counter said we should get some veggies), a smoke chicken, and a full rack of ribs. We had high hopes for the Fried chicken due to the reviews but we actually found the winner of the evening being the smoke chicken and the ribs. The ribs weren't fall of the bone but they were plenty tasty. The smoke chicken had a great flavour and they made the fried chicken pale in comparison. Overall, the meal was very filling and e we had quite a few pieces of chicken and ribs leftover. Maybe if I ate the fried chicken alone, it would be better. Oh...next time and I am sure there will be one.

Tip: Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays are the only days they work the smoker and thus the only days you can get the ribs and smoke chicken.
